Learn The 3 Types Of Farmville Collectables

By Taylor Shuemake

Farmville collectables are another dimension in this amazingly popular virtual world that is shared by millions, one which expands the richness and multiplicity of the virtual world of this incredibly popular game. Many gamers spend huge amounts of time and money in pursuit of the #1 goal of collectors: to own a complete set of whatever you're collecting. An example is buttons: there's a button made of abalone, one that is checkered like a racing car and one made of brass. If you owned these three, you might be avidly seeking the rest of the set. There are several reasons for becoming a collector:

#1: There are millions of collectors on this planet and even though the appeal may not be obvious to others, the collector appreciates the item in some powerful way. Popular collectables in the Real World are old tools, stuffed animals, hats, bottles, plants, old maps and snow globes. Even if we can't understand why anybody would be passionate about these items, the collector cares nothing for our opinion. And online game collectors are no different.

Reason #2: There is definitely an element of chance in the items you can acquire, so everybody will not have complete sets. There is a certain amount of fame involved in owning either a complete set or a large number of collectables and most people love the attention that comes with success.

#3: There are rewards for a complete collection. Once you have all the objects, you can trade them in for 250 Experience Points, 5,000 coins or five tanks of fuel. You can, naturally, start a new collection that is identical to the one you just traded.

Like all computer games, there is a basic decision to be made: do you want to stop often along the way - or do you want to move up in the game as fast as possible? collectables might slow you down because you spend coin trying to complete your collection. On the other hand, you might move faster because of the awards mentioned above. Each player must make that decision alone.

One Way To Find Collectables: popups are the easiest way to acquire collectables. All you need to do is to simply wait around until they can appear on your monitor when you are playing Farmville. Every once in a while a winning goodie will magically flash on your screen.

No Work = No Collectables: There are constant chores on any farm - even a virtual one. You can earn collectables by being a hard worker. You earn the right to certain collectables by normal farm tasks of tilling the soil and planting seeds.

Give Gifts To Your Buddies: One of the keys to completing multiple collections is to give and receive gifts from your Neighbors. You might have a piece they're desperate for which you bought in a popup. You can exchange gifts and you both win. The best way to become friends with these lovely neighbors is by watching the game feeds. Gamers add "wall postings" and you can meet kindred spirits this way.

Farmville classifies each and every collectable as either Common, Uncommon or Rare. Obviously, the Rare ones won't appear nearly as often which is why gifting and trading with other farmers is so valuable. Some players collect bugs, for example, and a stick bug is Uncommon while a dragonfly is Common and much more readily available.

What Collectables Can I Acquire? There are sets to collect like the "Country Kitsch Collection" which contains 3 Common items, 2 Uncommon and a Rare one. The Common items are needlepoint, a spigot and a pocket watch. To finish the collection you need the Uncommon objects which are a salt shaker and a thimble, plus a cow bell, which is the Rare goodie. These categories seem a bit strange because in the Real World a thimble is a very common and easy-to-acquire object. But in this virtual gaming community, a thimble will be harder to find than a pocket watch so it is availability that determines a designation.

Should I Become A Farmville Collector? the method used to assign collectables is random and haphazard. To illustrate: you may find that you have a number of Rare collectables - and no Common ones. Or your close friend possesses considerably more collectables than you, even though you have an equivalent amount of Neighbors. Just like the physical world, there's an element of chance and only you know if you're comfortable playing the collectables game.
