I take it that you are interested in making your slow computer faster. I'll let you in on a little secret: tune your virtual memory. Your computer has something called a hard drive which it uses to store files on and something called your RAM (Random Access Memory) that it uses to work with files and programs temporarily. When your computer turns off, the information that was on the hard drive will still be there when you turn it back on, but the information on your RAM will be gone. That's why it's a temporary working place.

The name for this space on your hard drive is called a Paging File and is what you need to "tune" if you want to make your slow computer a bit faster. Your paging file is designed to be two different sizes that it moves in between: the Initial Size and the Maximum Size. Since these two sizes are constantly changing it causes your paging file to work inefficiently. All you have to do is to just make your paging file the same size and it will help you make your slow computer faster. Here' what to do:

If you using Windows XP, click Start, right click My Computer and select Properties. Click on the Advanced tab and then under the section that says Performance, click on Settings. In this window, click on the Advanced tab and under Virtual Memory, click Change. Look under where it says "Drive [Volume Label]" and make sure that C: is selected (it should be highlighted blue). Now look under Page file size for selected drive and select Custom Size.

Where it says "Total page file size for all drives section" look at the amount that says Recommended. What ever number it says is recommended, type that into both boxes where it says Initial Size and Maximum Size. Click Set and then Ok. Then Click Apply on the next window and OK.

For those of you using Windows Vista, just click Start, select Control Panel and on the left hand side make sure Classic View is selected. Now double click on the System icon. Now look on the left side of the window and click on the Advanced System Settings. Select the Advanced tab at the top of the window and then under the section that says Performance select Settings. A new window should appear. Just click on the Advanced tab at the top of the screen and under the section that says "Virtual Memory" select Change. Now uncheck the box that says "Automatically manage paging file size for all drivers" and look in the area where it says "Drive [Volume Label]" to make sure that C: is selected. Now look under Page file size for selected drive and select Custom Size and where it says "Total page file size for all drives section" take not of the amount that says "Recommended" as you will be using this number. Now take whatever number it says is recommended and type that into both boxes that say "Initial Size" and "Maximum Size". To finish just click on Set, then Ok and for the next window just click on Apply and then OK.

People who have attempted to read The Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers often find that it is not an easy book to get through. And yet, the movie version, released in 2002 and direct by Peter Jackson is an exciting and memorable movie that has received a lot of critical acclaim. The book is important but is often difficult for people to get through for a number of reasons. The plot tends to have patches of intense action which are interspersed through long periods of travel. Because of this, many people find that they tend to skip over the rich descriptions of the landscape through which the characters travel in order to concentrate on the action scenarios.

The 2002 screen adaptation of the book tends to make these slower portions more interesting. This is because you are able to see the landscape and it makes it feel more real and immediate than reading it may. Text can be hard to follow for some people but the visuals developed by Peter Jackson and his crew tend to reach out and draw you in more completely than you might ever imagine. The movie uses extensive make-up, elaborate sets and computer generated imagery to make the sensation of being in Middle Earth complete. Even people who have read the book will find they experience scenes such as the siege at Helm's Deep more deeply and will truly feel that they are in King Theoden's hall as Gandalf faces down Grima Wormtongue in order to free the Rohirrim from tyranny.

The two towers mentioned in the title refer to the tower of Saruman, a corrupt wizard who has fallen under Sauron's sway, and the tower of Sauron itself in Mordor. Saruman is busy creating warriors that will be used to crush the remaining forces who are still putting up a fight against Sauron. Saruman is creating fearsome creatures known as Uruk-hai that are stronger, tougher and more brutal than anything that has come before.

The Fellowship was broken at the end of the first movie due to the attempted theft of the Ring from Frodo by Boromir. The movie is split into two different sub-plots. The first is the travels of Frodo and his companion Sam and the second is the travels of the remainder of the Fellowship. The companions are further separated due to events which occur during the book, and this gives us the opportunity to be introduced to many of the different cultures and races in Middle Earth.

This story allows us to find out more about the main characters and the reasons that they behave the way they do. We learn more about Aragorn and are introduced to characters such as Eowyn, one of the Rohirrim who plays a pivotal role in the third book. We learn more about why Boromir would be so desperate to possess the ring that he would have taken it from Frodo by force.

There are many fantastic scenes in this movie such as the Battle of Helm's Deep. This battle takes place when the humans of Rohan take shelter in a stronghold which then comes under siege. An overwhelming force attacks them and it is only the arrival of elven warriors which allows the humans to survive. That in itself is miraculous as we learn that no elf has fought with a human since they last battled Sauron a thousand years earlier.

Although The Two Towers is one of the least appreciated of the three books, it is definitely worth reading. It will help explain how things reach the point they do when The Return of The King begins.

Have you seen Fight Club yet? Most everyone has, but a few viewers have actually somehow managed to miss this movie. Of course, it wasn't just a movie, it was also something of a cultural event. Love it or hate it, you have to respect that it was one of the most influential films of the last twenty years, at least deserving as much respect as Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction or Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas. It was the movie that ended the nineties as those two movies began the era, and certainly one of the must download movies of the decade.

The story follows an unnamed narrator portrayed by Ed Norton. There's a lot of "Office Space" type humor as he disparages his corporate white collar job, but there's an ugliness to it here, a darkness not present in Office Space. The movie is very deep and brooding and twisted, while at the same time sarcastic and nonchalant about the whole thing.

The narrator meets Tyler Durden, and the rest is history. Durden is a character who is completely free of the boundaries of society placed on most people. You know Kramer, from Seinfeld? He's kind of like that. Just, imagine how dangerous, frightening, and at the same time, inspiring, Kramer would be if you took him out of the sitcom setting and put him into a world where his actions could result in serious consequences.

Tyler is really the heart of the film, forming the Fight Club alongside the narrator. The Fight Club begins innocently enough as a bare knuckle get together where white collar guys get together and beat each other up for the fun of it and to reaffirm their manhood in a society that has sissified them and turned them into cowardly cubicle slaves rather than raw, testosterone driven animals.

Once they start robbing banks and trying to take over the world, you see that the Fight Club is an expression of rage, that impotent rage that all men feel in a society that has castrated them in a symbolic way. The movie is outlandish and surreal, but this part isn't. That anger is very real, and it seems entirely realistic that, given the right catalyst, men really could just go crazy and start blowing things up for no good reason (heck some guys already do it).

The finale, the way the movie ties everything together, it's very interesting. It's kind of frightening, it's exciting, and it's kind of funny. In the end, all of the details about Durden and the Narrator are, if not quite solved, at least developed into something you'll enjoy thinking about.

In the years since Fight Club, Ed Norton has become... Well he can be predictable. You always know exactly how he's going to act from minute to minute. Interestingly, it's Brad Pitt here who gives one of the best performances, and who would then go on to top it, over and over again, throughout the next several movies of his career. He tops this role in the Coen Brother's Burn After Reading, and again in Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds. However, this role, and 12 Monkeys, were probably the two that really showed that he was a real actor, and not just a pretty boy.

Love it or hate it, this movie, as shocking, grotesque and violent as it may be, is one of the most influential of the last twenty years, and at the very least, deserves its due respect.

They had several sets of teeth, and they salivated a substance that could eat through metal floors with ease. While you don't learn it in the original release, but in the sequels, most of them report to a much larger and much more terrifying queen.

It is this crew that the story centers around. They are on a mining expedition to take minerals back to Earth when they are hailed from a nearby planet with a distress signal. Tetsuo Ironman was the debut film by the legendary Japanese film director Shinya Tsukamoto.
