The cartoon industry is one of thriving industries. What you will note about cartons is that cartoons are coveted across ages. Normally its young kids who are cartoon crazy yet in reality there is a significant proportion of adults who love cartoons. It can be cartoons in print or the gripping television cartoon programs. Cartoons are so common nowadays such that you get to see most of these carton characters in many advertisements. What may be interesting here is the fact that the cartoon industry is one of the industries that have benefited immensely from the developments that have obtained in the 3D animation industry.

An interesting observation is that the majority of animated box office hits are now presented in 3D animation. Animation is an intricate exercise and you really need to grasp the ins and outs of the exercise so that you can gain a foothold into the inner circles of the 3D animation career. To give a simple outline of what animation is we can simply state that animating a 3D animation product is a collection drawings that a designer or artist has designed.

These drawings are then put into frames. These collections are then imaged in such a way that they can denote movement. What must be noted here is that this briefly pertains to cartoon animation yet 3D animation is not at all restricted to cartoons. There is so much that goes into producing a great cartoon 3D animation end product. The first step is the brain storming part where-in the cartoon character is imagined into existence.

A designer will in this phase imagine a character and then draw it. If this drawing has been created outside the computer environment then the drawing has to be taken into the computer for animation. When this has been done the animator will then use various software and various software facilities to animate the drawings. The drawn characters are taken through various stages that will bring the drawings into life. The final stage is to finalize the production of the processed images and animations into what can be used as a final product. This is what will be taken to the viewer. As much as the job requires adequate and appropriate training the other fact is that you need some talent or acumen to fit well in the 3D animation industry.

The computer has simplified the 3D animation exercise but what remains is that the animator or the designed has to instruct the computer and make the computer achieve exactly what is in the animator's mind. What this implies is that the designer needs have a sufficient understanding of the options. He has to accomplish all that must be accomplished. The interesting part in designing especially cartoon animations is that you need animate charters along a story line to bring the whole product into life.
