Audio books are now so popular that 28% of Americans are now listening to books on audio. The sales of audio books have increased over 12% in the last two years and in 2007 exceeded the 1 billion dollar mark.
Let us see if we can itemize the benefits of buying an audio edition as opposed to the printed book.
Firstly: They are a great time saver due to the fact that you can listen to them just about anywhere and anytime even when doing other things. I personally like to listen to my favorite audiobook whilst driving to and from work and have used this time to further my education, which in my particular case is learning foreign languages. But
