The Forest (2016) does not rely on "found footage" to raise your hair. It relies on the existence of a Suicide Forest in Japan, also called the Sea of Trees, at the base of Mount Fuji. It is supposed to be a place where people go to commit suicide and locals refuse to get off the trail to explore this 35-square-kilometer forest. In the film, a girl is forced to go off the trail in search of her sister, who she is told ventured into the forest.
